Ford Hybrid and Electric Vehicles

The 2013 Fusion Hybrid maximizes performance. At lower speeds, it can travel in electric mode. When the gas engine does kick in, at higher speeds or when passing or merging, the transition is seamless. The Fusion Hybrid also features visual aids to help you drive more efficiently. The SmartGauge® with EcoGuide cluster uses dual liquid crystal display (LCD) screens on either side of the center-mounted speedometer. Watch the display grow leaves as your short-term driving efficiency increases. As your long-term driving becomes more efficient, vines and more leaves are displayed. It also lets you track the powertrain's operation - hybrid drive, electric drive, gas engine plus instant and average fuel economy.

The combined energy of a dynamic electric motor powered by a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery and the 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I-4 gas engine supply the power for the 2013 C-MAX Hybrid. The C-MAX Hybrid is projected to operate electrically up to 62 mph, allowing the electric traction motor to power the vehicle, providing maximum efficiency. The engine kicks in when extra power when needed, such as when passing or merging, and provides the main source of power. All of this together helps provide EPA-estimated 47 city, 47 highway and over 570 miles per tank.
