Trim Levels
There are eleven different Ford Mustang trim levels for 2020: the EcoBoost Fastback, EcoBoost Premium Fastback, Ecoboost Convertible, GT Fastback, Ecoboost Premium Convertible, GT Premium Convertible, GT Premium Fastback, Bullitt, Shelby GT350, Shelby GT350R, and Shelby GT500. Each trim level lets you enjoy the pure freedom of muscle on the open road. The three convertible trims feature an easy to maneuver soft top. Remove it before your trip to enjoy the feel of the air through your hair on the highway. The 2020 Mustang GT Premium Convertible features a blade decklid spoiler and raised blade decklid spoiler. Its dual exhaust with quad tips lets everyone know when you arrive. These features are optional for both the Ecoboost Convertible and EcoBoost Premium Convertible. As you approach all three cars, take note of the pony projection lights. The lights are designed to make the Mustang stand out.
Engine
The power for the 2020 Mustang Convertibles comes from one of two different engine types. The EcoBoost trim levels use a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. It delivers 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. It is a turbocharging direct injection block with twin variable cam timing. It pairs with a six-speed manual transmission. You have the option of adding a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
The GT Premium Convertible uses a 5.0-liter V-8 engine. It uses port fuel injection to create 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a standard six-speed manual transmission with rev-matching. You have the option of upgrading the transmission to a 10-speed automatic transmission for more power on the highway.
Performance
When it comes to performance, all three trims are designed to switch between the street and the track quickly. If you are using the vehicles under track conditions, take advantage of the launch control system. It works with the manual transmission. It integrates the brakes, traction, and powertrain to give you quick starts. Real-time launch data displays on the in-dash LCD screen.
Interior
The inside of the EcoBoost convertible features a two-way manual adjustable front passenger seat. The driver's seat has four different adjustments. All of the seats are cloth. The Sync system lets you connect your Apple or Android device to your car for hands-free calling and access to your favorite apps on the road.
If you choose the EcoBoost Premium, your front seats adjust six ways. They are also heated and cooled for comfort. The Sync 3 system uses voice commands, so you don't have to take your eyes off the road. The GT Premium interior matches the EcoBoost Premium.
Safety Features
When it comes to safety, Ford includes an SOS Post-Crash Alert system among its features. The post-crash alert sets off an alarm that alerts passersby to your crash. Auto high-beam headlights are an option for all three convertible trim levels. They turn on and off depending on if a car is nearby on a dark road.
